The Red Cross Asks You to “Give Something That Means Something” These Holidays!

Holiday postcard

The holiday season is once again upon us. This is not only a great time to spend with family and freinds but is also the perfect time to give support to those in need. You can help to “Give Something That Means Something” this year by taking part in the Red Cross Holiday Gift Giving Campaign.

There are many ways you can help this holiday season. You can give directly to much-needed Red Cross programs by making a financial donation and by giving blood. You can also shop the Red Cross Holiday Gift Giving Catalog. There you will find ways to donate in the name of important people in your life. You can pick specific programs to support such as giving an emergency shelter stay or you can choose to support important vaccination programs. If you don’t want to pick a specific program to support you can choose to give “help when it’s needed” allowing your gift to go towards urgent needs, when they happen.

The Red Cross also proudly partners with companies which designate a portion of their sales to charitable organizations. For example Amazon.com offers its “Amazon Smiles” program. When you purchase items through the “Amazon Smiles” program you can designate the Red Cross as your organization of choice. For each item purchased 0.5% of that items price will go towards supporting the Red Cross.
