On Tuesday, June 2, the Red Cross will celebrate its first-ever Giving Day. It aims to be the largest single-day of fundraising in the organization’s history (outside of major disasters). The theme – All In 1 Day – will highlight how life can change when a disaster strikes.
In southern Nevada, Red Cross volunteers respond to a disaster, on average, every 19 hours. These volunteers are on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week because disasters can happen at any time. The Red Cross knows that things can go from good to bad all in 1 day. This national fundraising event will rally the public in support of the Red Cross mission and ensure residents in the community will have the provisions they need when they need it the most.
100% of donations made through the Giving Day website (www.redcross.org/GivingDay) will go directly to supporting the Red Cross mission. You can help the Red Cross spread this message by becoming a Social Ambassador. Click here to find out more or visit http://givingday.redcross.org/#ambassadors. If you sign up before and share this post before May 10 at 6 pm, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org for a free Red Cross t-shirt.
