For those Southern Nevada students on a “staycation” for spring break, the American Red Cross is offering a babysitter’s training course on Thursday, April 17.
Red Cross Babysitter training covers all of the major topics that a young person may encounter while babysitting or looking for babysitting jobs. From child care to how to write a resume, it’s a great way for teens to learn skills that they’ll use for the rest of their lives.
The course is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for youth between the ages of 11 and 15 to learn the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants.
The course costs $75, and includes lessons on basic care for children and infants, basic health and safety for children, basic child behavior knowledge, how to develop a babysitting business and leadership development. Students are encouraged to bring snacks and pack a lunch.
Instructors will teach the babysitting training course at the American Red Cross Chapter headquarters at 1771 E. Flamingo Rd. Ste. 206-B, Las Vegas, NV 89119
