The Red Cross vehicle made an appearance this morning during assembly at Richard Rundle Elementary School to recognize the student and teachers for a pretty amazing thing…
The student body decided that they’d like to do something to help the victims of Superstorm Sandy. They were going to collect money for the Red Cross.
What we didn’t know, is that a large number of the students live below the poverty level. But they got their change together, and the teachers went into their wallets, and together they raised $315.00 for Sandy Disaster Relief!
So the Red Cross went to their school to accept their check and to present them with a certificate of recognition, and take pictures with the Red Cross truck.
We met many of the staff, and a whole bunch of the kids, and everyone was SO nice! They really are a success driven student body, and with this type of philanthropy in their hearts – even in the face of some of their own fiscal challenges, these students are destined for futures that are great!
On behalf of all the folks affected by Superstorm Sandy, thanks to all of you at Richard Rundle Elementary for being our Everyday Heroes!
