Southern Nevada Red Cross Collects Phones and Mobile Devices at Electric Daisy Carnival June 8 – 10

Insomniac is partnering with the Southern Nevada Red Cross and Phones 4 Charity at this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas to collect and donate your old phones to charity. During all 3 days of EDC you can visit the Red Cross booth and drop off your surplus phones. There will be a grand prize raffle winner drawn from those who drop off their phones.

Here’s what happens to the donated phones:

a. If the phone is still functional and commands a market value, it will be sold and the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada for local emergency relief efforts.

b. If the phone is functional but has no market value, it will be sent to a women’s shelter or an elder-care facility to be used for 911 call capabilities, at the facilities request.

c. If the phopne is not fucntional, it is designated as scrap and will be recycled for its precious metals and other recoverables. The toxic materials will be kept out of landfills.
